Hi everyone, welcome back! This week’s Color Throwdown Challenge was another difficult one for me. I’ve mentioned in other posts my difficulty with yellow and orange. I turned to the Altenew Simple Fruits stamp set again to make something a little more true to color.
I really like the way this card turned out. I even turned to one of my favorite card designers, May Sukyong Park at Mayholic Design for a bit of inspiration. I borrowed her trademark dots on a background to complete the look of the scattered red, orange, and yellow fruits to fulfill the requirement for the challenge.
For this super simple card, I repeat stamped the apple, lemon, and orange to complete the red, yellow, and…orange requirements, respectively. I added the dots with Altenew Artist Markers to fill in some of the open spaces, just like May does on her cards.
I used one of the sentiments in the Altenew Simple Fruits stamp set and white heat embossed it onto black cardstock. I stacked two layers of the Altenew Bold Alphabet die and used a pearl embossing powder to give a smooth look on the letter die cuts. The final touch was a dotted white line to marry the white letters and the background. I’m pretty pleased with the way this turned out. What do you all think?
