Hi everyone, happy Friday eve! I just finished the homework for day four of the Zentangle for Cardmakers over at Altenew Academy. Let me tell you…this was very difficult for me. This card is the final version of MANY drafts I worked through. In the class example, Amber (@notableink) showed us the Vega tangle on a large alphabet die from Altenew. I struggled to get the Vega Zentangle to look the way I wanted on my smaller sentiment dies.
So then I just forfeited the idea of using sentiment or letter dies and just decided to make the shape myself. The thing I struggled with was making the Vega ‘ribbons’ sensible around my image. It looked more like a wrap than a braid and I was not having any of that!
Even though the creative process was not very zen, I’m so thrilled with the way it turned out. I used the Vega and ‘Nzeppel tangle as a anchoring background element to my floral arrangement using Altenew Anemone. I did some light splattering using Brutus Monroe Pearl liquid ink. I hope you all have the best day and thank you so much for stopping by!
