Hello Sunshine.

Hi everyone, happy hump day! After the coloring challenge from Kathy Rac I revisited some of my card making materials and realized I never made a full card using this die set from Spellbinders Lucky Clouds. I used this die set to dry emboss a few projects but never used it as a focal point on my card.

I enjoyed making this card because I ended up with the positive and negative inlay from one ink blended cardstock. I kept calling it a ‘buy one, get one.’ I used a pale pink and peachy orange ink to create this sort of cotton candy dreamy cloud background. For the main card pictured above I cut out a few more layers of the cloud die image to layer and inlay on top of my kraft note card.

As for the positive image I laid it on top of the ink blended negative pieces. For both cards I used vellum to showcase the sentiments. The ‘don’t quit your daydream’ sentiment comes from Altenew Painted Greetings and the ‘hello sunshine’ comes from Brutus Monroe Be Brave. I heat embossed both sentiments in Brutus Monroe Ultra Fine Embossing Powder in Gilded.

The last thing I did to embellish the above card was added some shimmer to some of the clouds using a Spectrum Noir pen.

If you asked me a few years ago when I first started making cards what colors I do not like using, my immediate response would have been pink, orange, and yellow. As you all have come on this creative journey with me you all have seen that I’ve changed my mind a bit. Funny how that works, huh. Have the best day!
