Welcome to the last stop of the April 2019 Blog Hop for the April 2019 Altenew release! You should have come from Reiko Tsuchida’s blog. If you get lost along the way or just want to relive the amazing inspiration from the talented team of card designers, just head back to the Altenew Card Blog for the blog hop list. I’m so excited to share the projects I’ve made with this wonderful release, so let’s get to it! Don’t forget to leave a comment for a chance to enter into the Altenew Giveaway–see the details at the end of this post.
Geometric Landscape
This first card I created with Altenew – Geometric Landscape (ALT) was inspired by my home state. Of course I had to make something inspired by the lovely Western views. I used Altenew – Platinum Crisp Embossing Powder (ALT) and gold foil cardstock to complete this scene.
On my second project I wanted to replicate the facets of the crystals in a geode. I ink blended two panels of inks from Altenew – Glacier Caves (ALT) and Altenew – Rose Petal (ALT). The sentiment I used comes from the Altenew – Mega Greetings 2 Stamp and Die (ALT) bundle. It fits, right?
Bundle of Joy
I love anything to do with the art of the cosmos, so making a constellation with the Altenew – Bundle of Joy (ALT) stamp and die set was most necessary. I tried to make a parallel between “little someone” and the Ursa Minor constellation. I also included Altenew – Label Love (ALT) for part of the sentiment and Altenew – Watercolor Nebula Washi Tape (ALT) for the background.
I have been inspired by the many ink blends that some of you all created and shared on Instagram. I added one of these ink blended panels for a playful night scene with Altenew – To the Moon (ALT) stamp and die set to make a baby mobile image. In person, these stars twinkle with a bit of added shimmer with an embellishment shimmer pen.
Delicate Flower Bed
I love this Altenew – Delicate Flower Bed (ALT) background stamp. Very simple watercolor background with some of my favorite Windsor Newton colors. I’m sure the Altenew Watercolor Brushes would make it easier to replicate this project than using pan colors. I foam mounted the whole panel on top of my note card to combat the bit of warping from the full watercolor image.
I also really love the sentiments that come with this stamp set. These center aligned sentiments fit perfectly inside this fussy cut wreath. I used a mix of Altenew Artist Markers and Copics to quickly color these images. Even though this looks like a lot of flowers to color, in reality it only took one stamped A2 panel to generate enough flowers to form a wreath!
Weekend Doodles
For this card, I first stamped the main image with Altenew – Permanent Blank Ink (ALT), an alcohol friendly ink. I didn’t waste the second generation stamping so I made a stamp mask using the same large image. Then I grabbed my Altenew – Watercolor Stripes Stencil (ALT) and Ranger Texture Paste and lightly framed the stamped image before coloring it in Altenew Artist Markers.
I love taking apart floral cluster images and creating my own bouquet. In this case I stamped this floral cluster and colored it using Altenew Artist Markers. Then I fussy cut the images and rearranged them in a new formation. I added one of the wreath images to the back of the group and stamped it in a light grey ink.
Rose Spray
What I like the most about this stamp and die bundle is it sort of reminds me of Altenew – Dainty Bouquet; these layering images do not lay on top of each other. Instead, the layers fill in empty spaces. As you can see in the card above, there is no “base” layer like in many other layering sets. You could stamp these in contrasting colors to get a very unique look.
And last but not least, my final project for this release. I layered up these stamps to create my floral arrangement. I used Altenew – Fine Alphabet Dies (ALT) to enhance the sentiment from Altenew – Weekend Doodles (ALT). I cut apart the leaf cluster to give some variety in the arrangement.

Soo beautiful. Your cards reminded me of ex boyfriend who studied Geology and from time to time we would look at stars in sky with telescope. Thank you for my smile. Great inspiration.
