Hi everyone, welcome back! I’m so excited to join Altenew for the May 2019 Stencil Release! Thank you so much to Kelly Janes for relaying you over to my blog. If you get lost along the way or want to relive the amazing inspiration from the team of designers for this release, head back over to the Altenew Card Blog to find the complete blog list.
I am sharing a video on this release based on techniques that I like to use when working with stencils. In this video you will find card projects I made for the Altenew release!
I hope you enjoyed my video! If you use any of the techniques or just want to share an idea you have for using stencils, make sure you share your projects with me over on IG (@jaycee.gaspar)!

Layer Texture
Here’s where I went a little jewel crazy. I got these embellishments in a lovely happy mail from Yasmin Diaz – Blog | IG. I’ll admit, I am super intimidated by sequins and dimensional drops (I feel like I just want to add the whole container), but I got the courage to give them a try on my projects again thanks to Yasmin.
I also mentioned the Altenew Academy course “Zentangle for Card Makers” (ALT) taught by the wonderful Amber Rain Davis CZT for adding Zentangles to your projects.

Wow! Gorgeous cards! Thank you for the tips and techniques! I love the cards with the embossing paste, especially the one with the succulent! You’ve totally inspired me to get out my stencils and, possibly, order more!

Floral Garden with is my favorite stencil from this release. I’m so glad I watched your video, I learned some things (always up for learning). I love how you cut apart the Floral Garden piece to create your own arrangement on top of the embossed piece. The ‘Thinking of you’ card….awesome just stenciling on opposing corners!

I appreciate your tips on using stencils. I’m just getting into using them and now my head is full of ideas. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I do love the Floral Garden and your coloring and highlighting technique on that one is gorgeous.

Hi Jaycee 🙂 These cards are crazy great 🙂 I. love. them. Your color palettes, your composition, your balance are ALL spot on!!! I’m looking at them on a MacBook Pro and the color balance is a bit hot. I’m losing details in the color balance AND these are too good to have that happen! They are really great cards! Thanks for inspiring me 🙂

Your stenciling creates very subtle backgrounds that really sets off your focal point. I like it!
