Altenew Build-A-Flower: Hellebore Release Blog Hop + Giveaway + Video

Hey everyone, welcome back! I’m so excited to join Altenew for the September 2019 Build-a-Flower: Hellebore Release (ALT) and Blog Hop! Thanks so much to my good friend Caly Person for relaying you over to my blog. If you get lost along the way or want to relive the amazing inspiration from the team of designers for this release, head back over to the Altenew Card Blog to find the complete blog list.

Before showing you how I made my card, I preface in the video below that I got a mix of ideas for my BaF card project from some of the other designers on last month’s Altenew Blog Hop for the Build-a-Flower: Bellflower. Amber Rain Davis and Jenny Colacicco had these wonderful dark flowers and mixed color families to achieve stunning looks on their cards. I put these thoughts on my mental inventory of techniques and could not wait to break them back out for the Hellebore release. I also wanted to play with the Altenew – Fine Alphabet Die Set and see how I could stretch their use…literally (ALT).

There are two takeaway points I was trying to convey with this video. I showed you all the importance of swatching your inks. I used Altenew – Graphic Brushtrokes Stamp Set to very easily display the Altenew Crisp Dye Ink families (ALT). Not to mention, it looks so pretty in my little binder full of swatches. The second point I made was devising your own color family blends. You all saw that I created new looks of flowers by mixing two or more ink families from Altenew–another great alternative to stretch the use of your inks. Thank you to Ms. Davis and Ms. Colacicco for the inspiration! If you give this a try, make sure you share your project with me over on the gram (@jaycee.gaspar)!

  1. Beautiful cards! And I loved your commentary! There are definitely times when I feel like I’m stamping for 9000 years to create a few cards!💛🧡💛 that I’m not alone in that!!
