Waffle Flower – Bear Hugs Gatefold Starry Night Scene Card + Video

Hi there everyone, welcome back! I am sharing a video for Waffle Flower using the Waffle Flower – Bear Hugs Stamp and Die Combo (WF). I was recently inspired by Jennifer McGuire’s tutorial on Embellished Windows and I had to try it for myself. This Bear Hugs stamp set and a few of the sentiments reminded me of a few furry friends finding comfort in each other under the night sky, so I wanted to create that scene for this project. I created this scene by also incorporating a gatefold card. One panel has the interstellar background while the furry friends are overlaid on the opposing embellished window. Hopefully that makes more sense after watching the video below!

Because of the nature of thermal laminating sheets or thick plastic, this card will never stay flat/closed. This was the perfect opportunity to weave my sentiment into baker’s twine to help keep the card closed, but also incorporate an interactive element into this card. I simply added this tag by white heat embossing over black cardstock and trimming the piece to look more like a gift tag.

Thank you so much for watching my video on this gatefold starry scene card. If you like what you’ve seen from me, make sure you like the video and subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already. The support and comments I get from many of you over on IG (@jaycee.gaspar), my blog, and YT mean the world to me. Thanks so much to Team Waffle Flower for sending these products my way; I will have more Waffle Flower related content coming for you all very soon!

  1. Hi, great video and beautiful card. I made a laminate card. Jennifer mentions at the end of her video to put the folded plastic back through the laminator. This actually makes it completely flat. It then prefers to stay flat rather than open. I found it made a huge difference.
