While watercolors are great for coloring, I know watercoloring is a skill that many of you are confidently mastering at your own pace. I want you all to know that there are great ways to create beautifully handmade cards without intricate coloring or large blocks of time. That was my goal with the video below; I wanted to show you that using the Altenew – Metallic Watercolor Pan Set should not be intimidating. You can create stunning, shimmery, and shiny results in your cards and scrapbook pages.
Giveaway!
To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by 11/2/2019 for a chance to win.
Team Altenew will also draw a winner to receive a $15 gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog on the blog hop list below. All winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 11/4/2019.
Thank You!

Fantastic techniques on your cards and they look easy enough for me to do them. I love the results you got with the metallic paints. I may have to ask Santa for a set this year. Thanks for sharing. I always get inspiration from your videos.

The metallics are GREAT on black paper. The pigments are easy to resuspend to get opaque coverage on black paper. Be sure to try this on other colored card stocks as well!

LOVE the fact that we don’t have to be experts to do these fabulous cards!! Great tips with the double cutting & full adhesive backing to place the reverse die cuts. The Happy Birthday cards were also beautiful. Although I don’t have liquid watercolors, I may try to duplicate with just watercolors. Great techniques on both cards. THANKS for sharing with us!!

These cards are so beautiful and these are perfect techniques for creating some stress free watercoloring! I didn’t think I needed any more paints until I saw these. Lol! I love the rich creamy look, the beautiful colors and the beautiful silver metallic which is sometimes missing in other metallic sets.

Gorgeous shimmery cards, love getting 2 cards from this one inlay technique! The water color panel cards are so beautiful too, love the alcohol splatter for this organic look.

I like your first two cards Jaycee as they are CAS. Have to say I am over the moon with the other two cards you created from the one panel of watercolour paper. Oh my goodness – the richness of the blues & greens makes me think longingly of the Caribbean ocean as I look out at frost on everything. I did not realize you could splatter Rubbing Alcohol over watercolours to create that organic look. Thanks for that brilliant tip. The addition of the gold metallic watercolours takes these to a new level of gorgeous. You rock!

Thank you so much, Teri! I’ll admit I found the alcohol tip from watercolor experts on youtube. I knew of other additives (like rock salt) to add to wet watercolor for an interesting effect as well. I just want to show you all that it works for your card making projects.

I love how you show in your video that you can use these metallic watercolors in a simple way to make a stunning card!! I also love how you say to be careful when you are splattering drops of alcohol onto the cards not to go crazy and get in in your eyes!! You are a hoot!!
