Hey everyone, welcome back! Today marks a special day for Alex Syberia; she is launching her Holiday 2019 Release Digital Stamps! I am grateful to have received these ahead of time to create projects using her illustrations. In fact, I used one of her designs in an Instagram Post featuring Alex Designs – Huge Peony.
If you’re not familiar with digital stamps, these downloadable images are available for you to print using an inkjet or laser printer. If you have an electronic cutting machine such as the Silhouette Cameo or Cricut Explore series, you may be able to convert these illustrations to SVGs and expand your creative possibilities. I have access to Microsoft Publisher and Adobe Photoshop, so I like to create intricate backgrounds and resize these images to fit your card making or scrapbook project.
I was experimenting with different color palettes for the holidays. The folds in Alex’s illustration looked like snow capped petals so I left them white. The white splatters I added emphasizes this scene I was trying to build.
Here is another non-traditional palette. Catherine Pooler has released an ink pad called ‘Sangria’ and immediately so many color possibilities popped up in my head. I repeated the digi stamp and did some graphic style coloring. No intricate shading, just blocks of color and a lot of white outlines.
I worked with the negative space of this repeat background again. I colored the void areas with copic markers and I wasn’t too careful in getting a nice outline. I stayed within a color blending series but I did not take too long to blend the colors. Again, I was going to for a graphic feel for this background.
Those are my three projects (so far) using Alex Syberia Designs Digital Stamps. I was lucky to get connected with her during a few Altenew releases while I was a guest designer. If you have any questions about how to use digital stamps, please leave them in the comments below. Otherwise, if you’re inspired by my card projects, please consider giving Alex a visit at her shop. I hope you all had a safe Halloween, now here comes all the Christmas music! Have the best day!
I received these images from Alex with no obligation for promotion. I try to support small business and kind business when I can. Please visit Alex’s shop by clicking the banner below.
