Altenew December 2019 Ink Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

If this is your first blog hop from Altenew, one of the major point about these coordinating ink sets is that the colors overlay beautifully and deliver beautifully deep colored flowers. In this project and the following projects, I concentrated the ink showcase on the flower petals and muted other non-petal elements in a warm grey layering ink set. My favorite purple shade is a plum/aubergine, so the deep and velvety purple in this set is one I would use often for sentiments just as I did for the scripted ‘hello.’

Like the previous card, I used another Build-a-Flower Stamp and Die Set. This time featuring the December BAF: Stargazer. I did some simple pattern stamping and used the coordinating die to make masks out of typing paper. If you look really closely, you’ll see a lot of imperfections in the way this was made, but that’s the beauty of doing this repeat stamping–you would never know unless I told you, right? I trimmed down the panel to be slightly less than my card front and added the handwritten ‘hello’ die to the front. I did a direct to paper inking technique by swiping one of the ink pads across the paper for a two-tone look.

I saved my favorite for last. My most loved watercolor and color in general is Payne’s Grey. I love a dead and deep blue, and Dark Night Crisp Dye Ink is a color I would want my bed sheets in. It is the perfect night sky color. I have no other descriptors for why I love this ink family. I will definitely need the re-inkers for this set very soon. Which new ink family is your favorite?
