Pear Blossom Press Card Kits + Video

Hey everyone, welcome back! These past few weeks I have been working with Amanda Stevens of Pear Blossom Press. She has been so kind and supportive through my card making journey and has graciously sent me two items that I would like to show you all today. Interactive cards have always been a bit daunting for me; I thought I could never work through it or I could not come up with a design that I like. Trying out these light up card kits has been challenging but also so rewarding. I love the light scenes I have been able to make with these products. For more of a tutorial on how to use these kits, Pear Blossom Press has a Facebook Page, Store, Instagram, and YouTube Channel all about two light kits: EZ Light and the Power Pack Kit. If you are curious of the products I used to make these cards aside from the Pear Blossom Press Kits, I will have them linked at the end of this blog post.

This fantasy night scene uses the EZ Light Kit. The wonderful thing about this kit is that there is no circuit building required. All you have to do is devise a scene and think of where you want your lights to go. Then after that, it is just a matter of gluing all the components down. If you want to make a multilayered card or a pop-up card, this may be a better option for you. Otherwise if your card is flat and you would prefer greater control over building your device, then the next option may work better for your card.

I made this card using a simple spotlight circuit. The light passes through the center of the constellation and illuminates the back of the die cut stars. For this project, I used the Power Pack system from Pear Blossom Press. This kit requires a little bit more assembly, but in my opinion it was so fun building this circuit from the bottom up. If you want to light up a single point on your card or more than three points, this is the better option. You have greater control of where the single spotlight will be. Or if you desire more lights on your card, all you have to do is purchase more of the Chibitronics adhesive lights and build your circuit.

That’s it for my two light up card projects for Pear Blossom Press. If you check out anything from Amanda’s store, please let her know I sent you. Thanks again to Amanda for sending these products my way. I’ll definitely be using the remnants of these kits in my personal stash of cards.
