Before we get into the cards I made for this release, let me plug the Build-a-Flower (BAF) Subscription offered by Altenew (ALT). The BAF contains the wonderful stamp set and die bundle. I think it is a phenomenal saving considering that I love floral stamp sets and when mixed with your favorite inks, you can create endlessly beautiful card projects. When signed up, you are guaranteed a spot in the monthly BAF releases and will receive a set each month – at a specially discounted price! ($35.00 → $29.99)

The BAF: Canterbury Bells and Ink Bundle is fabulous for those of you who are new to the Altenew brand (ALT). The Crisp Dye Inks from Altenew layer beautifully on this stamp set and this bundle is at a 5% discount.

I love the layering sets from Altenew. It is quick (and easy) to line up all the layers of stamps for dimensional blooms and stunning arrangements. Altenew’s layering florals are the reason why I went from stamping hobbyist to passionate cardmaker. As a customer, my preferred Build-a-Flower sets were always the ones that contained the buildable set and an outline stamp for coloring. In this case, I refrained from using the layering stamps and inks and colored the image with colored pencils. I can’t help but add the shadows and color myself and transform this set into botanical illustration.

After coloring all the floral outline elements in the Build-a-Flower: Canterbury Bells set, I die cut all the images. I paired the arrangement with the Fine Frames Diamonds Die Set from Altenew to modernize the botanical illustration type coloring. I love the alluring and dreamy scene with these flowers and the die set. I know I will be making future floral cards with this pairing.

  1. Beautiful card! I love the gray leaves. I just ordered a set of mini gray inks so I can try gray flowers and leaves. Thanks for the inspiration.

  2. Love that you colored this flower with colored pencils, as well as the blue and grey color scheme you chose. Also really like the way you used the diamond frames to ground your flowers. Thanks for sharing!
