For my first card project in this release, I kept the arrangement simple with the Rolled Roses Die Set. I die cut the flowers and foliage with pink and copper papers and adhered them directly onto a deep navy cardstock. I used the Envelope Art Stamp Set to create a sentiment banner. On this banner, I stamped one of the sentiments from Sentiment Strips 2 Stamp Set for a quick and easy thank you card.

The Altenew Embossing Paste is one of my favorites. It is easy to spread, light-weight, and holds its shape well after drying. I mixed the embossing paste with a drop of the Watercolor Brush Marker Refills from Altenew on top of a patterned background I made using Simple Fruits Stamp Set. Those raindrops? They’re actually seeds from the previously mentioned stamp sets. I thought these two sentiments from the Sentiment Strips 2 Stamp Set paired perfectly with the Over the Rainbow Stencil.

I love this Statement Flowers Stamp and Die Set. Lately I’ve been matting a lot of my cards on a black frame, and I thought these large blooms deserved the same treatment to complement the bold outlines. I used the Altenew Artist Markers to only color the petals, leaving the rest of the image uncolored for a more sophisticated feeling.

For my last card, I used the Mixed Sprinkles stencil to create a fun and bold background. I used the background as the base for my shaker card. Since Altenew’s Make A Statement Release contains a sequin bundle, I used those in my shaker window for an interactive card. I have a video for “How to Make a Shaker Card” featured on my Perfect Pairings series for Altenew!

  9. Wow! Impressive collection of eye-catching cards. I especially like the Hello Sending…. card. The combination of colors, the layout of the card, and the flowers with the perky sentiment brought a smile to my face. Great idea!!!

  10. I found the shaker card cute and playful and loved, the tip in the video, of what to do if you run out of foam. But, the “Statement Flower” stamp is a heart stealer! After viewing several of these HOPS I want to complement you on your video style and practical useful tips you include. Most of all, I highly regard your coloring and you are one of the artist that has inspired me to give it a try. Saving up now for the Altenew products.

I do have a question is there any product that would stain the mat used in your video?

    1. Thank you so much for reaching out and for your kind comments. It means a lot.

As for the silicone stamping mat, I have an older version of the Essential Crafter’s Mat. I have stained that mat with a red dye ink from Altenew while ink blending. Photopolymer stamps will also stain from deep reds and blues, as it is a testament to its superior manufacturing materials. So I imagine that the silicone mat will also take on a little bit of blue as well. As far as anything else that stains, I haven’t tried. The Altenew cutting mat (the grey surface I film on) has withstood stamping ink, watercolor, alcohol markers. I hope that helps and thank you for visiting my blog. Please stay safe!

  12. Wow! I have never heard of embossing paste. Your cards are fabulous. I need to do some classes or something. I have a lot to learn apparently because I never knew about embossing paste and I’ve never tried watercoloring. Man, I need to try this. I love your rainbow card the best. I’m new to this blogging thing too so I hope I comment right. The last one I tried on the previous screen dies how up.
