From the previous watercolor card video I made featuring the March 2020 Paint-a-Flower: Iris Release, many of you gave me feedback on color complement and how to use it. I am grateful that so many of you who tune into my YouTube channel and blog regularly give me topics on what you all would like to see from me. The Paint-a-Flower: Hydrangea is the perfect stamp set to teach color complement. I feel that the layers of flowers naturally found in real-life Hydrangeas are a challenge of shadow and form. To paint realistic and dimensional bouquets, one needs an understanding of pigment mixing and placement–especially in a limited color palette. Believe me, achieving this look is entirely possible with watercolor. I thank you all for letting me share what I know about complement and color theory.
