For my first card project, I challenged myself with a one layer card. I first stamped the large solid flower image in Calming Reverie on watercolor paper. To get the rainbow ink blend, I inked up portions of the stamp, wet the ink with a water spray bottle, and stamped the image. Then without removing the stamp, I inked up the next color of the rainbow on the next area of the stamp until I covered the entire solid image. I finally finished the flower by overlaying the dotted layer and using the mask stencils to mask the flower and stamp the leaves.

I did a quick pairing with the new Apothecary Labels stamp set with one of my favorites, Flower Garden Stamp and Die Set. I love that the Apothecary Labels come in a nesting set of sizes to fit any size card front. The nesting die set would work perfectly on any home decor projects like amber bottles and drawer fronts.

  2. Hi! This is my first time here, at your blog! How creative of you to do this big, beautiful flower in rainbow colors! I never would have thought to do something so unique! I also love your card with the labels. Your coloring was lovely, and that label is very eye catching! No tiny, missed sentiment there! Thank you for sharing!

  3. Both cards are beautiful! The rainbow technique on the large bloom is fabulous, and I love your soft coloring of the florals in the second.

  5. Oh my goodness! You really outdid yourself in that first card. I love that rainbow effect. It is stunning. I love the dotted layer. Your second card is also lovely. I’m really liking those nesting labels.
