Altenew Exotic Garden Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Embossing Folders Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hey everyone! It’s time for the May 2021 Stamp Release, which means I’m so excited to join Altenew for the brand new Exotic Garden Stamp Collection (ALT) and Blog Hop! Thanks so much to the legendary Jennifer McGuire for relaying you over to my blog. Don’t miss the wonderful giveaway opportunities as well–more on that down below!

Exotic Garden Collection

I was having a lavender and blush moment with this release. For my first card, I gold heat embossed the ginkgo images and added a slight blush shadow using the simple coloring stencil. Then I made a coordinating light purple background using Pale Mauve Crisp Dye Ink. On this background I foam mounted a panel of gold flecked cardstock that I made using heat transfer foil. I arranged all the die cut ginkgo images in an upward direction and added a simple sentiment.

For some reason, I only saw this Dovetail Butterfly image paired with Build-a-Flower: Stargazer. I thought the yellow and cream of the butterfly would offset this fantasy lilac colored bloom. I love the Dovetail Butterfly layering stamp and coordinating die set because you can get added dimension by die cutting the thorax/abdomen and forewing layer. Then adhering the previously mentioned layer on top of the complete butterfly image.

These Succulent Layering Dies are so much fun to stack. I used scrap panels of gold flecked cardstock and ink blended crisp inks on top of them. I took color inspiration from various Echeveria genus of succulents. There are many beautiful cultivated varieties to choose from. I overlaid a different quantity of each layer on top of a panel of Peach Gold Washi Tape as a quick ‘sand-like’ background. The sentiment comes from Beautiful Quotes Stamp Set.
