Hey everyone, welcome back! It’s the first of the month, which means I’m so excited to join Altenew for the brand new December 2021 Build-a-Flower: Queen of the Lilies (ALT) and Blog Hop! Thanks so much to Erum Tasneem for relaying you over to my blog. If you get lost along the way or want to relive the amazing inspiration from the team of designers for this release, head back over to the Altenew Card Blog or keep reading to find the complete blog list.
Build-a-Flower: Queen of the Lilies
Want to add a rare royal touch to your projects? Well, you’re in luck!
This stamp set features 8 layers to create gorgeously detailed Queen of the Lilies flowers. You will also find a couple of leaves with an outline layer, a full-color layer, and a color shading layer for beautiful stamping possibilities. Stamp one of the sweet sentiments to finish your card or layout
Card Design & Inspiration
I stayed true to the Queen of the Lilies color palette. This cultivar of Lilium auratum has a gold stripe and red stippling on its bright white blooms. I made three variations of this flower to arrange on my card front.
For the leaves, I kept them on the cool side of the green color palette. I supplemented the Green Fields color palette with the Jewel Tones 6 Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set to get cool dark mix of green foliage (ALT).
I finished this card with an ink blended background using the previously mentioned Jewel Tones 6 Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set ink set. I added a fine spray of Jet Black Ink splatters and added the sentiment using Obsidian Pigment Ink (ALT).
