April 2022 Build-a-Flower: Belladonna Lily
Brighten a loved one’s day with stunning Belladonna Lilies. These gorgeous summer bloomers produce multiple fragrant flowers on each impressive stalk. In this stamp set, we have brought this exotic plant to paper through a delicately drawn outline image. The flowers have four coloring layers, and the stem has two coloring layers that will add depth and character to this beautiful flower. The Build-A-Flower: Belladonna Lilies special edition stamp and die set is only sold as a bundle. It includes one 6″ x 8″ clear photopolymer stamp set (20 individual stamp images) and one coordinating die set (1 die).
Sending a Floral Hello – A Flower Card

The first thing I did was pick a color palette for my Amaryllis belladonna. Instead of sticking to one layering ink set and stamping each color value, I used my entire spread of Altenew Ink Pads (ALT). I started with a warm yellow outline, and cascaded via analogous colors ending in blue.
I picked jewel tone colors in my stash. I looked for inks that went more on the warm side of their respective hues. From the outline in yellow, to orange, red, purple, then finally blue in the least detail layer. Then I continued the stem layers in a very dark blue, and evergreen.

I paired my newly stamped Altenew Build-a-Flower: Belladonna Lily image with another Altenew item I recently added to my stash. I thought the layering flowers were the perfect size to fit inside the Lovely Envelope Die Set (ALT). I finished this card with an array of embellishments and a simple background.

How to Make This Card
- On an A2 cream colored cardstock, add a slight gradient of Warm Sunshine Crisp Ink from the Summer Afternoon Ink Family.
- Stamp a diffuse layer of each of the color inks mentioned below by applying ink to the stamp, then diffusing the ink with a Mini Ink Blending Tool.
- A – Warm Sunshine: Summer Afternoon
- A1 – Sunkissed: Warm & Cozy
- A2 – Rouge: Red Sunset
- A3 – Nimbus: Tranquility
- B1 – Dark Knight: Tranquility
- B2 – Green Onyx: Jewel Tones 6 Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set
- After die cutting the layered Belladonna Lily image, die cut the envelope image from Lovely Envelope Die Set and supporting heart image.
- Layer the flower image between the ‘front’ and ‘flap’ layers of the die cut envelope. Use Instant Dimension Foam Tape to give the flower an overflowing appearance.
- Embellish the card with die cut gold hearts, gold thread, and a white heat embossed sentiment on top of gold cardstock.
