I really wanted to experiment with this stamp set. I love being inspired by tattoos and tattoo artists and when I saw this illustration from Fleurette, the first image that came to mind was geometric deer tattoos–Google it and see what I mean. Creating this card project took a lot of patience and a lot of reference photos to create a somewhat realistic deer face. I opted to omit the antlers on the deer just to show the versatility of the stamp set.
I used Ink On 3 – Fadeout Ink and stamped the deer head onto Neenah 80 lb Desert Storm Cardstock. Then I grabbed a 01 Micron Pen and added shading to the deer face and floral arrangement. I shaded the entire image in dots to give dimension, referencing the stamp itself to preserve Fleurette’s illustration as much as possible. Once I was happy with the way the deer head turned out, I added geometric lines and circles to another panel of Desert Storm cardstock. I added a die cut crescent and foam mounted the fussy cut deer head image.
The creative team has many brilliant coloring ideas using this wonderful new release from Ink On 3. I hope this post has inspired you all to look at your stamps differently and borrow inspiration from other realms of creativity.

Love how you did the stippling like pointillism on the deer head, so dramatic and lovely. I think I will give that idea a go with some of my stamps, thanks for the inspiration. I just love your work! Thanks for sharing your talents.

Love this one. Adding the circle
in the background adds lots of
interest. Think it’s better
uncolored. thanks for sharing
