Hey everyone, welcome back! I’m so excited to join Altenew for the January 2020 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release (ALT) and Blog Hop! We are nearly halfway through with all the inspiration provided by my crafty friends! Thanks so much to my blog hop neighbor, Jen Schow for relaying you over to my blog. If you want to relive the amazing inspiration from the team of designers for this release, head back over to the Altenew Card Blog to find the complete blog list.

My perfect pairing video feature with Altenew is also live on their YouTube Channel! I used a brand new product from this release and paired it with an older favorite. Make sure you check out the video below for additional inspiration! If you have any suggestions on what you would like featured on this release, let me know in the comments of the video. Otherwise, keep scrolling for the giveaway info, my card designs for this amazing release, and the full blog hop list. I made a handful of card projects for this release, so let’s get to it!

For my first card project I used the Cherry Blossom Mini Ink Cubes and the coordinating Gradient Cardstock Set to create this cotton candy-like dreamy mountain scene. I staggered the new Mountain Die Set to give myself variation in the landscape.

I made a second iteration of my first card that is more on the masculine side. I combined the Mountain Die Set with Mini Moon Stamp Set for a dreamy night scene. To give this card more texture, I used the Color Wheel Die and dry embossed onto my black cardstock.

When I saw the Retro Plantines Stamp and Die Set, my mind immediately went to Art Deco. So I opted for a design inspired by the 20s with a deep blue and gold palette. I stamped the images with embossing ink and used Platinum Crisp Embossing Powder to get shiny foliage. I paired the leaves with Geometric Landscape Stamp Set to give me a complete background.

This was the first card I made for this release. Consequently, it was actually what inspired the Perfect Pairing. I mixed up the Wild Flora Stamp Set from this same release and stamped it on some die cut Mod Vases. I really enjoyed the modern scene the flowers made on top of the vases.

Speaking of Wild Flora, I stamped the flower images on some white cardstock in a light grey ink. Then I used Permanent Black ink to stamp one of the floral images and colored it with Altenew Artist Markers in Set E. I added a Crystal Frame die cut to give the flowers a modern edge.

The Hello and Hugs Die Set is one of my favorites from this release. I love the shadow layer that comes with the die Set and perfectly offsets any noisy background. In this case I made a rainbow background with the Heart Builder Stencil.

The Vase Fillers Stamp and Die Set reminds me of the Leaf Clusters Stamp and Die Set. These solid images are beautiful by themselves of course. But once paired with your favorite flower gives additional foliage options to fill your card front.

Like I mentioned earlier, the Vase Fillers Stamp and Die Set is beautiful on its own. I did an embossed resist to give me this bright pink background behind the palm leaves. I saw a wallpaper design online exactly like this and I knew I had to replicate it with these Altenew stamps.

For my last card in this release I was inspired by one of my favorite designers, Ivana (@ivana.creates)! She has this wonderful folk style with bright colors and perfect embellishments. So I borrowed her use of polka dots and bright color palettes to make this dimensional card. Then I added a fabric ribbon below my sentiment for the finishing touch.

You always have such creative cards, Jaycee! I love what you did with the diecut layered roses and the new vase sets. They are awesome. That inlaid look is really cool, and I will give it a try. Also love that Wild Flora card, too. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us.

Jaycee, you have some wonderful examples here! I enjoyed them all! I think the mountain one is my favorite, the darker one with the moon in the background. It reminds me of the skies when I used to live in Colorado. Summer camping trips! Always fun. I also dig your art deco card with the deep emerald blue base and the plantines and the geometric background. I love that dark, deep color and I was drawn to it in the blog hop teaser! I have enjoyed your work as always and thanks for inspiring us! Cheers!
