Hey everyone! It’s time for the March 2021 Stamp Release, which means I’m so excited to join Altenew for the brand new Storybook Fantasy Stamp Collection (ALT) and Blog Hop! Thanks so much to Laura Bassen for relaying you over to my blog. Storybook Fantasy Collection

I am excited to be a part of this collection. I am sensing a designer evolution within the Altenew illustrations and it makes future releases enticing. The images within the Storybook Fantasy Collection depict fairytales and whimsical feelings. For this very simple card, I was inspired by ‘drop caps’ or that very pretty first letter in older texts. I used a cover die for the ornate background. Then I overlaid the stack of books image from Books Are Magic Stamp Set.

Again, following a fairytale book and whimsical feeling I made this card using Fairy Tale Florals. I was trying to evoke the feeling of an old text in this design–sort of like the feeling of a complete Britannica set on a shelf. I added gold dot details to the petals of the blooms. Then I used Apothecary Labels Stamp Set for the sentiment label.

To stray away from books, I thought of a ‘fairytale wedding’ for this next design. I have very little experience with embossing folders. After playing around with the embossing folders in this release I feel like I have been REALLY missing out on quick and beautifully textured card ideas. I used the Ranunculus Bouquet 3D Embossing Folder and Handwritten Hello Die Set for this easy card set in a fairytale wedding design.

I wanted to see if I could cut apart an embossed panel and create my own floral arrangement. *Spoiler Alert* the answer is ABSOLUTELY. I used the 3D embossing folder as a sort of stamp and added depth to the center of petals with dye inks. Then I cut apart the petals and foliage from the Majestic Bloom 3D Embossing Folder and arranged them on my card front.

I would love to see a video on how you did the water color on the embossing! You must have used a very small brush. The results are GORGEOUS!
