Winter Essentials Stand-alone Die Release Inspiration Guide |
Real talk, today is my 31st birthday. How lucky that I get to share a birthday card featuring some new dies on my birthday. This card was pretty labor intensive, but the end result was so worth it, and I ended up with two cards. I needed the Ink Blending Tool – Large to make this card as well as some goodies from the Winter Essentials Stand-alone Die Release.
To make this card, I started with a 4.25 X 11 sheet of white cardstock. I used an array of Altenew Crisp Dye Inks and the Ink Blending Brush – Large to get beautiful rainbow transitions between dye ink colors. Then I started the meticulous task of die cutting the Happy Birthday die from Essential Sentiment Strips Die Set. After I die cut all the sentiment strips that would fit on my rainbow panel, I used the 2 in 1 Precision Glue Pen to brick lay them on another panel of white cardstock.
I finished this card with the Linear Pathway Alpha Solid and Outline Bundle. I die cut the TO YOU sentiment with Linear Pathway Alpha Solid in white cardstock first. Then I used the 2 in 1 precision glue pen to glue the coordinating outlines from Linear Pathway Alpha Outline onto the white cardstock letters. I finished this card with matching gold sequins after centering the TO YOU sentiment over the Happy Birthday brick rainbow panels.

I smiled when you said that this card was labor intensive. It never fails that after making one of “those” cards, I give it to someone and they take a 10 second look at the front, open it up and then they smile and say thanks. On to the next card. Nope, thanks for the heads up… I’ll pass on making this card. I’ll just like it from afar. One “happy birthday” will have to do.

Happy Belated Birthday! 31 is so fun. I remember that age. 😉 I got twenty years on you; so lucky for me the memory still works! ha hee. I really like the cards you made because they work for both men and ladies! If you just use different colors and that is what you did and showed us both; thanks for that. I hope you had a wonderful birthday and got to enjoy yourself. That is what they are all about if you ask me! Great cards!!!

Lovely cards and the use of the strip dies as a background is very inspiring. I like that the cards could be for male or female. The Altenew dies are great and it is so good to get many ideas from so many on ways to use them. Keep up the great work. Thanks 🙂
