This card was one of the first tests I made with the Woodless Watercolor Pencils. My intent was not to finish this card, but rather to get used to how the pigment moves and other watercolor techniques. In the end, I was thrilled with how effortless these pigments are to use that I decided to finish this card.

I started with an Obsidian outline of the Paint-a-Flower: Sunflower on a panel of Altenew Watercolor Paper. I used two techniques for coloring these flowers…which I will divulge in a Perfect Pairings with Jaycee video over on the Altenew YouTube Channel. I went with this primary color palette to color the background, sunflower petals, and leaves.
