Hey everyone! I love the versatility of washi tape. Altenew has an array of applications perfect for card/scrapbook projects (ALT). With some creativity, Altenew Washi Tapes even make great decor pieces for the home (ALT). My friends and I are sharing our favorite projects we made with Altenew washi tapes in this Blog Hop! Thanks so much to my good friend Norine Borys for relaying you over to my blog. Peach Gold Mandala Birthday Card

I wanted to showcase my favorite washi tapes. I get the most excited about the ‘wide’ washi tapes. These tapes are slightly wider than an A2 sized panel, making quick and stunning backgrounds. I used the Peach Gold Wide Washi Tape as my background.

I have been experimenting with my Spellbinders Hot Foil System. I wanted to try an intricate die on the background to see how well I could impress and foil the design. I love the distressed look of the Intricate Mandala and used it to my advantage for this card.

I made a quick background strip using the Tea Party Washi Tape Set. I die cut the letters HBD (Happy Birthday) using the Caps Bold Alphabet Die Set. I embellished this card with the Green Fields Enamel Dots.

Scorpio Star Chart Birthday Card

Again, I love Altenew wide washi tape because I can make endless quick backgrounds. The Watercolor Nebula Wide Washi Tape makes beautiful and colorful nebula/galaxy backgrounds. The pattern repeat lasts about four A2 panels on the short side.

On top of my nebula background, I used my hot foil system again. I pressed the Color Wheel Die into the center of the background. I added metallic gold splatters using the Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set.

Finally I added a gold die cut of the Scorpio – Zodiac Constellation Die Set. Then I gold heat embossed my Scorpio sentiment using the Splatter Constellation Stamp Set. If you have a rhythm going, I can easily see this being a card to be easily mass produced.
