Hey everyone! It’s the 7th of the month, which means it’s time for the November 2021 Craft-a-Flower reveal (ALT)! I’m so excited to join Altenew for the brand new Craft-a-Flower: Sweet Violet Release (ALT) and Blog Hop! Thanks so much to my good friend Erum Tasneem for relaying you over to my blog. If you want to relive the amazing project ideas from the team of designers for this release, head back over to the Altenew Card Blog or keep reading to find the complete blog list. Don’t miss the wonderful giveaway opportunities as well–more on that down below!

Craft-a-Flower: Sweet Violet

For my Viola odorata, I wanted highlight the velvety appearance of the petals. I started with two mixes of crisp dye ink. I used the Enchanted Garden and Northern Shore for the purple and blue flowers, respectively. I ink blended each layer to get a gradual transition between layers for a smooth appearance.

As for the foliage and flower bud stem, I used the Nature’s Wonders ink family. I used the same large ink blending tools to get a gradual gradient. To give these leaves a little texture I pressed a moistened paper towel to the inked cardstock to bleach the ink.

I arranged the die cut leaves and flowers over a grey ink smooshed background. I took a sentiment from Paint-a-Flower: Rose to finish the flower arrangement (ALT). I also added coordinating grey splatters to complete the card project.
