It’s the first of the month, which means I’m so excited to join Altenew for the brand new January 2022 Build-a-Flower: Candystripe Cosmos (ALT) and Blog Hop! Build-a-Flower: Candystripe Cosmos

You will be as happy as a kid in a candy shop when you play with these unique layering stamps! This set features a gorgeous, elaborately showy candystripe cosmos flower with a branch and a leaf that you are sure to love. We have also included a few silhouettes of leafy branches perfect for adding stunning background patterns and foliage to your projects.

Card Design & Inspiration

I could not resist using all of the stamped elements in this Build-a-Flower on my card front. Instead of stamping the entire stem, flower, and leaf image together, I pieced my bouquet my neglecting the outline image in the stamp set.

I stamped all the images on top of a cream colored cardstock to warm up my jewel toned Candystripe Cosmos palette. I used Martian Terrain for the flowers and Nature’s Wonders for the leaves and supporting foliage images.

I finished this card with Jet Black Ink splatters and added the sentiment using Obsidian Pigment Ink (ALT). I used the same cream colored cardstock as the flowers and leaves for my background. I also used black enamel dots to finish this full and overflowing arrangement.
