How to Make a Rainbow Twine Card
This Tied with Love Stamp and Die Bundle makes perfect background and focal elements. The twine is surprisingly realistic for one stamped layer. I love this stamp set for all those times you want to add the dimension of twine without adding bulk to your card. Could you imagine all the twine I would have had to use to make this card instead of stamping it?
How to Make This Card
- Using watercolor, woodless coloring pencils, or in my case, alcohol markers, create a rainbow edge as seen on the left side of the card. Set aside.
- On a full panel of white cardstock, repeat stamping the longer wrapped twine image in Altenew Crisp Dye Inks (ALT). Change the orientation of the stamp and overlap images for more variability.
- Trim off a narrow strip from both ends of the wrapped twine background. Trim enough paper to expose the rainbow edge border.
- On another panel of white cardstock, stamp the heart twine and love sentiment in black ink. Die cut the black stamped images.
- Foam mount the twine wrapped background on top of the rainbow edge panel. Arrange black stamped images on top with coordinating sentiment.
- Add black enamel dots to embellish the card (ALT).

Die Cut Background HACK
I featured two NEW items from the ‘All Things Handmade’ Collection in this card. The Alcohol Ink 6X6 Paper Pad acts as a perfect backdrop to the An Artist’s Collection images. Assembling this card took quite some time, but I am thrilled with the result of the background.
How to Make This Card
- On a panel of 6X6 Alcohol Ink Backgrounds, repeat white heat emboss the ink puddles from An Artist’s Collection Stamp Set (ALT). Use the coordinating dies to cut the images; be mindful of color groups and keep them together.
- Stamp the paint palette, brush, and paint tube in Permanent Black Ink (ALT). Use Alcohol Markers to color in the watercolor trays (ALT). Add white highlights with a gel pen.
- Gradient stamp the sentiment onto the lid of the watercolor palette. Die cut all the stamped images.
- With the Metallic Watercolor Pan Set, add an array of splatters that coordinate with the colors in the palette and paint puddles (ALT).
- Space and foam mount the paint puddle die cuts on top of the splatter background, keeping similarly colored puddles together for a flowing appearance.
- Foam mount and arrange the black stamped elements on top of the die cut background.
