Hey everyone, welcome back! It’s the first of the month, which means I’m so excited to join Altenew for the brand new November 2021 Build-a-Flower: Honeysuckle (ALT) and Blog Hop! Thanks so much to LauraJane for relaying you over to my blog. If you get lost along the way or want to relive the amazing inspiration from the team of designers for this release, head back over to the Altenew Card Blog or keep reading to find the complete blog list.

Build-a-Flower: Honeysuckle

Bring sweetness to your projects with some lovely florals! This stamp set features a beautiful honeysuckle flower and accompanying foliage to beautify your handmade projects. The flower includes an outline layer and four coloring layers. The set also has two individual leaves and a pair of leaves coupled with a lovely bud. All layers have been labeled on the acetate sheet for ease of identification and use.

Card Design & Inspiration

I used to work two jobs when I first graduated from University. I was a full-time Laboratory Processing Technician, and part-time Bath and Body Works Sales Associate. When I saw the Build-a-Flower: Honeysuckle layering stamp set, my mind went immediately to some old Bath and Body Works packaging.

The inspiration for this card came from a visual memory I have of some older Bath and Body Works packaging. Unfortunately I do not remember which fragrance had this bright orange color palette. I just remember the brightness and warmth I got from the fragrance.

I used a mix of various Altenew Crisp Dye Inks and layered the flower. I gold heat embossed the outline images that accompanied this set. Then I made an orange ink blended vignette panel to act as my backround. I finished this card with metallic splatters and satin gold sequins.

  4. I love your card Jaycee! I like how there isn’t a white border- so elegant. And of course, I like the gold embossing.
